Must-Have’s for Starting the Gym

Le 14 août 2017, 10:50 dans Humeurs 0

When you start at the gym there are a number of things that you need, but can often overlook in the preparation stage. They may be simple, but if you leave any of them out you may find yourself at a loss at the gym!

So, here is what you definitely need when starting on your gym journey:

Hoodie

It’s all about the small comforts in life, and a good supply of zip up hoodies is one such comfort. Not only that, but it’s a must-have gym accessory. It’s good for both outdoor runs and keeping you warm during cool downs.

There are plenty of options out there, but a stylish grey and black will match with practically anything in your wardrobe even when you’re not at the gym. So, if you’re looking for a safe colour scheme then stick to shades. You can always jazz it up with some coloured accessories!

It’s easy to buy lots of t-shirts and tops to exercise in, but you will sorely regret not having a quality hoodie post exercise. An absolute necessity!

Trainers

Yes, you probably, definitely, own a pair of trainers. But, are they the right trainers? Any old pair won’t do for your gym exploits, as you may soon find your day to day trainers falling apart from all of the effort.

A quality pair of trainers is a necessity to help your exercise efforts reach their peak potential. Ensure they have a thick sole if you will be doing a lot of running, it absorbs the impact much better and can save your feet a lot of suffering. You can also get velcro for added easiness at the end of a long session.

Towel

Needed for wiping away sweat, both on yourself and the machines, a towel is extremely important for your gym-going efforts. You may find that going without leaves you with a bad reputation at the gym, as no one will appreciate you leaving sweat all over the machines!

The Right Attitude

Of course, there is nothing you need more for starting the gym than a can-do attitude. If you start out with the wrong attitude, then you might end up quitting the gym before you ever see the benefits of the effort in the first place. Make a pointed effort to go to the gym at a set day of the week, make a promise to yourself to go and ensure you keep it!

The Perfect Festival Style:

Le 27 juillet 2017, 15:40 dans Humeurs 0

Summer is in full swing and we are in the midst of the festival season, so if you’re panicking about what to wear and you’re not sure what style you’re trying to go for, then panic no more. Here are some of the biggest trends and outfit suggestions that will grace the muddy fields for the remainder of the year...

The Hair and makeup:

Now there’s nothing worse than being 3 days into a festival, having a sheen of mud that cannot be baby-wiped away and hair that cannot be tamed. One of the essentials to pack for this year is dry shampoo (a given) and a simple bobble (interesting), the festival up-do is the new boho waves. To hide your greasy shame, it’s a great idea to french braid your hair and have it in a high ponytail - this will give a more chic and sleeker take on scraping your hair up and out of your eyes. For makeup, think lots of deep oranges for the eyes and a dewy complexion (highlighter and dewy foundation) - perfect.

The outfit:

Now for the outfit, you want to make a statement… but also be really comfortable throughout the day. So floaty dresses and baggy, cool clothing is a given. If you want to brave a tight dress, or a tight skirt, or a tight top, then that’s on you. But if you want to dance around and have a good time and flow in the wind like a moon child, then stick to the baggy boho look - it’s a failsafe.

The shoes:

Wellies are always going to be a saviour at a festival, because regardless of where you are, which festival you are at, or who you are there to see, the rain is going to come. The fields are going to get muddy from drinks spilling, thousands of people traipsing around and of course, the rain. But if you’re feeling that wellies aren’t going to cut your new found festival look, then try going for a chunky boot, they are great for stomping about in the mud!

Accessories:

Accessories to compliment your outfit and your mood - crazy flower earrings, big beaded necklaces and anything that will go with the festival wristbands you will clasp to. A big thing at the moment is glitter! So make sure that you have enough to last you through the weekend.

Creating the Right Brand for Your Business:

Le 21 juillet 2017, 14:59 dans Humeurs 0

The best way to begin your journey as a business owner is to build a good reputation in your market – this is done through personal branding. Building up a personal brand can be achieved by following the simple steps of being nice to your potential customers, providing a good service and promoting good values. Here are some of the simplest, yet effective ways to build a reputation…

Events:

Hosting events is a great way to shout about your brand and get people to fall in love with your ideas. Whether this event is an opening for your business, a networking opportunity or something for charity, the main thing is that you get somebody out there as the face of your company, saying all the right things, doing all of the right things. There are so many different ways to get your name about, but hosting old fashioned networking events remains to be one of the most effective and creative ways to do so.

Social media and website:

Having a social media presence is like giving your company a voice, the more you interact with people and post the “right” things, the more you will gain from it. Having an opportunity to voice your company values and have a little bit of self-promotion will get people talking about you. Rather than using your social media to shout about your products, be sure to use it more for a way to get your name and values out there. It gives your customers and clients a platform to interact with you on a less formal setting. A great way to personalise your brand is to have employee photos and profiles on your site – this way people will be able to put a face to the name. Make sure to hire a professional photographer to take the pictures otherwise it can look “amateur” and unprofessional – but also be sure to get freelancer insurance if you hire any external staff.

Word of mouth:

Make good waves in your market and people will be sure to speak about how great you are. If you make a good impression on somebody, then you will get something back from them, but if you make a bad impression, then this can spread like a disease and prevent people from choosing your services.
